A couple of artist friends of mine tried to convince me that I should show some photos at the upcoming Art-a-Whirl. And like a fool, I'm actually taking their advice.
And right or wrong, I listened to my pal Jimmy and switched from the square format, to the more 'framer friendly' 8" x 10". His reasoning was aesthetic, mine economic. Were the roles reversed, I'd be the aesthete, and he'd be the suit. Or somethin'. We both like to spend some other guy's dough.
Thanks, fellas. Means a lot lot coming from you two. I respect your opinions a great deal. You are are photographers. I'm just a painter who takes photographs.
I showed a total of 6. Sold two, and have a meeting regarding a commission job with a local developer to put some photos in the lobby of a new apt complex in MPLS. We'll see if that flies. At the very least, they'll buy lunch...
These are awesome... How were they received?
ReplyDeleteHasn't happened yet, Ms G. May 20-22.

Good for you... spend their money. You deserve it.

ReplyDeleteTerrific shots! Great structure in all of them.
ReplyDeleteAre these the only three you showed?
I would be proud to have shot any one of these. How did the show go?
